D.A.R.K. writing new material - New Andy Rourke interview

When asked whether D.A.R.K. would be a one off project in an interview with Music Radar, Andy Rourke revealed that D.A.R.K. is currently "in writing mode" and trying to line up their schedules. "Watch this space is all I can say", he said somewhat cryptically.

Sounds promising!

Thanks to the K. in D.A.R.K. for re-tweeting the interview!

New single and video to be released from new acoustic album - likely new song, "Why"

Head over to Cranberries World to view the video and report.

The funny thing was, Noel had literally just finished saying that they hadn't chosen which song will be the new single yet, though it would likely be one of the new songs. Dolores than piped up, announcing "Why" as the single,  the two exchanged a few words after, my guess is, she jumped the gun with the announcement before it was made official. It's a cute moment between the two.

New Cranberries Photo shoot in Mexico

If you're like me, and The Cranberries aren't coming anywhere near you for the acoustic tour, you're probably dying for any information you can get about the new album. Well the band was spotted yesterday posing for a new photo shoot, which one could assume will be for the cover art or booklet for the new album. See the below picture!

Full credit goes to facebook user Cesar Enrique Vera for posting this picture and to Dolores O'Riordan Spain for finding it and reposting.

I love the juxtaposition of the guys in all black and Dolores in white! Gorgeous dress too!

Marking the 40th anniversary of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, The Cranberries version of "Go Your Own Way" included on 2 different lists as one of the best covers

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of "Legacy: A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac's Rumours".

Really nice write up from Consequence of Sound:

"Few bands know how to belt with sweetness and intensity side by side quite like The Cranberries. Dolores O’Riordan uses that Irish accent to charm listeners with each verse, introducing minor trills and intimate whispers at various points, until she gets to the chorus. It’s there that she belts, letting her voice dive through deeper notes before launching it up high. When partnered with the syncopated drumming, it ditches the occasional feeling of dragging on the studio version to lift listeners up onto their feet so that they can dance — and should they need it, a whispery, dream-like interlude comes mid-song, too."

And from Billboard:

"This cover, from the Irish exports' 1996 Faithful Departed album, does not disappoint with its upbeat tempo, solid electric guitar action, and the occasional Enya-esque voice notes."

The Cranberries announce acoustic tour with new poster

As I've stated in the past, I'm not going to report every single live date announcement that doesn't pertain to the US. But since this is all in one shiny new poster, (that may also be a preview of the art for the new acoustic hits album) I made an exception.

I am severely jealous. If you are lucky enough to be attending one of these special concerts, please take videos and share!

I'm not going to hold my breath for a US leg later this year, though I would be willing to travel to NY if it happens. That said, this June will mark 15 years since they've ventured to South Florida. C'mon!! We miss you guys down here!

I think we'll be getting an official announcement about the new album within the next few weeks. My uneducated prediction is that Dolores' solo song, Letting Go, will be one of the new songs included, as Dolores performed a string version of it at the Vatican Christmas Concert in 2015 and presented it as a "new" song even though it was released as a b side to her first solo album in 2007.We'll see.
